State Offers Design Initiative

The state Housing Finance Agency has made $1 million available for improved architectural, engineering, planning and construction standards to be incorporated into affordable housing developments. The funding is available through its Excellence in Design Initiative, the agency said in a written statement. The agency is searching for design proposals. The Excellence in Design Initiative Request for Proposals can be found at www.phfa.org. Participants must attend a seminar before entering proposals. All proposals must be submitted no later than 2 p.m. on Mar. 17, 2007. Architects submitting accepted proposals will share a stipend from the funding, the agency said.
